Practice Vector

Vectoring can be pretty intense. It may seem like it should be easy to make a vector image because, well... computers make things easier right? They do, but that doesn't mean that creating a vector on the computer is easy. If nothing more, by the time you finish your vector, you'll have more respect for the artists that make the vector graphics for Call of Duty, Toy Story or Need for Speed!

To get started, I want everyone to practice on the same image, the Penn State logo. I have a series of videos below that will explain how to create the image. They are short and broken into several parts so that you can watch the video, go back and give it a try, and then watch how to do the next part in the next part in the next video. It's going to be a little frustrating at some points because it's something new, but don't let it get you overwhelmed! The more you vector the easier it gets. After all, there is a reason why I want everyone to start with a practice vector. Good luck!

Setting up an Ai Document to Vector

This video was made to explain vectoring a scanned logo, not a practice vector, but the basic setup is the same. The only difference is that you should name your file Practice Vector instead of logo and use a Penn State logo that you found from the web. Everythign else should be exactly the same.
